February 16, 2010 - Kineto Wireless, Inc, the key innovator and leading supplier of solutions that enable delivery of mobile services over broadband, and Airvana Inc. (NASDAQ: AIRV), today announced they have successfully conducted interoperability testing between Kineto’s femtocell gateway and Airvana’s HubBub UMTS femtocell. The interoperability testing is among the first announced since the 3GPP finalized the Iuh interface specifications.

“The 3GPP Iuh standard simplifies the integration of UMTS femtocell products into operators’ core networks,” said Sanjeev Verma, vice president, femtocell business and corporate development, Airvana. “Airvana will support Iuh on both its residential and high-capacity enterprise femtocell products, and is very excited to perform interoperability testing with Kineto Wireless.”

“Interoperability testing is one the prerequisites to successful commercial deployments,” said Ken Kolderup, vice president and general manager of Kineto’s Infrastructure Business Unit. “We are pleased with the ease of pairing our product with Airvana, and we are prepared for operator deployments.”

Airvana builds high-performance UMTS and CDMA femtocells. Its residential femtocell is in commercial trials at multiple operators, and it recently announced a high-capacity femtocell that is ideal for enterprise and public space deployment. Over the last two years, Airvana has played an active role within 3GPP to standardize Iuh and it now plans to support Iuh on all its 2010 products. In addition, Airvana will provide the Iuh as a software upgrade to all customers that purchase its pre-Iuh product.

Kineto recently announced the release of the latest version of its femtocell gateway with support for the 3GPP Iuh interface. Kineto continues to be a leading supplier of femtocell gateways. It has been selected for multiple commercial deployments spanning the consumer and enterprise markets, with SFR in France being the first of these to announce their femtocell service.
