Mobilkom Austria: committed but cautious on LTE, femtocells

October 15, 2009 | Total Telecom - Austrian mobile operator waits for decision on digital dividend spectrum before moving ahead on LTE.
Mobilkom Austria fully intends to deploy long-term evolution (LTE) and femtocell technology in its mobile network in the coming years, but the Telekom Austria-owned operator said it will need clarity on a number of issues first.
The company, which has said it plans to invest around €500 million in mobile networks in the next four years, said it is waiting to find out what will happen to Austria’s digital dividend spectrum before it moves ahead with LTE.
