NEC to Showcase Small Cell Solutions at LTE North America 2012

in press-release, NEC, Small Cell, LTE

Tokyo & Dallas, November 7, 2012 -NEC will outline the advantages of its small cell solutions for addressing challenges in spectrum, technology and management of future wireless broadband at LTE North America 2012, November 14-15 2012. The event will be held at Fairmount Dallas Hotel, Texas, USA.

NEC's small cell technology enables mobile operators to dynamically and pragmatically provide higher capacity and to quickly handle ongoing traffic increases at a low total cost of ownership.  With its enhanced, wide-range small cell portfolio, NEC's technology satisfies both commercial telecom and US public safety requirements, including compliance with the newly defined 3GPP band-14 spectrum.

Also during the event, Keiichi Jay Miyahara, corporate chief engineer, NEC, will present a paper outlining the opportunities for mobile operators that are seeking to transition from existing mobile networks towards future IT and mobile broadband services.  The presentation, "Business case considerations for deploying small cells," will be held on 15 November at 13:00.

Exhibits at the NEC Stand will include:

LTE small cell all-in-one eNB (MB4300)

NEC's compact LTE all-in-one eNB in combination with iPASOLINK SX for small cell backhaul will enable operators to cost-effectively roll out LTE services, maximizing their networks' performance and quality of service (QoS) at the same time.

Outdoor small cell (FMA1630)

NEC's outdoor small cell provides mobile operators with a cost effective way of increasing network coverage and capacity in outdoor environments. It also enables operators to offload data traffic from the macro network to reduce CAPEX and OPEX.

Small cells for enterprises

NEC is also introducing a family of high-end enterprise products. This Enterprise Radio Access Network (E-RAN) technology offers an alternative to traditional Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). It enables mobile network operators to deliver scalable indoor mobile access and application services to their large enterprise customers much more rapidly and cost-effectively.

Small cells for homes and offices (FP813 and FP1624)

NEC's latest indoor small cells for homes and offices include advanced "plug and play" functionality. They enable end users to install the small cells quickly and easily, with no need for professional field engineers, planning or optimization.
